UP Assembly election: SP call exit polls influenced; confident of victory

Congress also said that the poll outcome on Saturday will be in its favour

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Samajwadi Party-Congress (SP-Congress) combine on Friday exuded confidence about victory of their respective party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, a day after exit poll results suggested the saffron party will have an edge over rivals.

BJP leaders said they would get a "two-third majority" in the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

The SP sought to pick holes in the surveys, terming these as "nonsensical" and "influenced".

Dismissing the exit poll results, the Congress said that the poll outcome on Saturday will be in its favour.

The counting of votes for Assembly polls held in five states, including Uttar Pradesh will take place on Saturday.

"The surveys have shown BJP will win. We are going to get a two-third majority in Uttar Pradesh. Wait for tomorrow," senior BJP leader Om Mathur told reporters at Parliament House.

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement.   Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update.
