Maggi noodles completely safe for consumption: FSSAI CEO Pawan Agarwal

Business Standard: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said on Thursday that Maggi noodles was completely safe for consumption. FSSAI CEO Pawan Agarwal told Business Standard that all the test reports on Maggi noodles, since its re-entry into the domestic market, had found it to be fit for consumption.

“Nestlé India has been regularly conducting and submitting test reports on Maggi as per self-compliance procedure. There have been no negative reports on Maggi since it was re-launched," he said.

More than three years after the Maggi ban, the ghost of the 2015 fiasco seems to be back to haunt Nestlé India, the maker of Maggi noodles.

The Supreme Court on Thursday revived a class action suit filed by the Union government against the Swiss food major for allegedly selling noodles that were unfit for consumption. The quality of the widely sold instant noodle is again expected to be under the scanner of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC). Read more.

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement.   Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update.
