Xiaomi Smarter Living event today at 12 noon: Livestream, expected products

 


Xiaomi is hosting its annual ‘Smarter Living’ event on Tuesday where the Chinese electronics maker is expected to unveil its ecosystem products and internet of things (IoT) devices. The virtual event will begin at 12 noon and it will live stream on company’s YouTube channel. As for the products, the company is expected to announce a fitness band, smart speaker and a smartwatch.

Xiaomi has been teasing the upcoming products through its social media channels. The product portfolio is likely to include the Mi Band 5, Mi Watch, and a smart speaker. The Mi Band 5 was launched in China earlier this year. It seems to be coming to India now.

The health and fitness band sports a 1.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It supports 11 sport modes supported by company’s Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI) activity index. The band comes with improved magnetic charging mechanism.

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement. Truecaller version 12 with new features for Android users launched

  Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update.
