Karnataka CM caps movie ticket rates at Rs 200 after watching 'Baahubali 2'

The Karnataka government has capped the price of film tickets at all theatres at Rs 200 and made it mandatory for multiplexes to screen Kannada and regional cinema during prime time.
The ceiling on movie ticket prices comes into immediate effect, with the government issuing a notification implementing the proposal announced in the state budget for 2017-18.
The move comes barely a day after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah along with his family watched the blockbuster "Baahubali 2-The Conclusion", by reportedly paying a hefty entry fee at a multiplex that was more than the normal price.
The notification also makes it mandatory for multiplexes to screen Kannada and regional cinema during the prime time (between 1.30 pm to 7.30 pm) at least on one screen.However, the maximum cap of Rs 200 does not includet axes.
While 'Gold Class Screen' and 'Gold Class Seats', IMAX and4DX screens have been exempted from the ceiling of Rs 200 inadmission fee, the number of seats in Gold Class has been restricted to 10 per cent of the total seats. Read More

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement.   Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update.
