Long queues outside Apple stores ahead of iPhone X launch

In a blast from the past, there are long lines already forming in cities around the world for tomorrow’s iPhone X launch.

After the iPhone 8’s muted rollout in late September, the lines of people willing to wait overnight suggest massive demand for the iPhone X – despite its US $1,000-plus price tag.

In Singapore, there are “hundreds” waiting for the iPhone X outside Apple’s freshly-opened store.

By late afternoon, there were already overwhelming numbers, reports Channel News Asia. “You need breathing space. This will take a while. There is no point in pushing,” Apple store staffers were heard saying.

After nightfall, one onlooker described the crowd size as “insane.”

In Sydney, Australia, there were already around 50 people in line earlier on Thursday, said News.com.au.

One Sydney teenager caused outrage by snagging two spots with the aid of an extra chair. Lee Cselko, 16, then advertised the spot – 25th in the queue – on a whiteboard.

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement.   Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update. " Truecaller  is a vital part of communication for over 22 crore Indians, for both their professional and personal needs.
