Apple's iPhone top smartphone brand in Q4, Samsung leader in 2017

Apple outperformed Samsung to end up noticeably the best cell phone mark in the final quarter of 2017 as it transported 77.3 million iPhones comprehensively, a report said on Friday.

Samsung which transported 74.4 million gadgets in the quarter, drove the cell phone showcase (by volume) with a piece of the pie of 21 for each penny for the whole year.

"Apple shipments declined one for each penny every year, notwithstanding, the organization turned into the main cell phone mark amid the quarter. Apple stayed number two in CY 2017, catching 14 for every penny piece of the overall industry," statistical surveying firm Counterpoint Research said.
The worldwide cell phone shipments grew two for every penny yearly in 2017 yet declined five for every penny in the final quarter.

The best 10 players, including Apple, Samsung, Huawei, OPPO and Xiaomi, now catch 77 for every penny of the market, in this manner leaving just beneath a fourth of the fragment for more than 600 brands to contend.

Samsung shipments declined 11 for every penny because of a decrease in India, China and Western Europe.

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement.   Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update.
