4G smartphones at Rs 3,399: Airtel, Amazon tie up for affordable devices

India’s largest telecommunications service provider and Amazon India, on Friday announced a strategic partnership with an aim to jointly drive smartphone adoption across the country.

Millions of Indians can now become first time owners of a 4G smartphone or upgrade to an advanced 4G smartphone of their choice at an affordable price from amongst a wide range of devices starting at an effective price of only Rs 3399.

NEW DELHI: Bharti AirtelNSE -1.70 % and online retailer Amazon have partnered together to sell low-cost 4G smartphones at effective prices of Rs 3,399, under the carrier's Mera Pehla Smartphone plan.

Customers buying any phone from over 65 Amazon.in exclusive 4G smartphones brands including Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Honour, LG, Lenovo & Moto amongst others, will get a total cashback of Rs 2600. Of this, Rs 2000 will be given by Airtel over a period of 36 months and the additional c ..

Airtel recharges worth Rs 3500 must be done within the first 18 months of the device purchase to claim a first refund installment of Rs 500. Recharges of another Rs 3500 must be done over the next 18 months to claim the second refund installment of Rs 1500 to avail a total cashback of Rs 2000 from Airtel.

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement.   Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update.
