IPL 2018 Final Highlights: Watson hands Dhoni's Chennai a fairytale victory

Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets to win the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL 2018). It was a cake walk for the CSK players as they went past the projected score of 178 with 9 balls to spare.

A vintage Shane Watson knock gave CSK a fairytale IPL glory after missing out the tournament for two consecutive years due to a spot-fixing scandal. The Aussie's 117 out of 57 balls runs single-handedly won the game for CSK. He hit a magnificent century in the ultimate IPL match of the season.

Ambati Rayudu hit the winning runs with 9 balls to spare as CSK won the title for a 3rd time. CSK showed utter dominance over SRH as they beat them in all the four encounters they had in this year's edition.

The SRH bowlers failed to display the scintilating form that they carried through most of the tournament, except Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Raashid Khan, who showed some prowress against the Chennai brigade. While Bhuvi was the most economic, with an economy rate of just 4.25, Shakib Al Hasan, Siddharth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma conceded runs heavily as the CSK batsmen thrashed their way to victory.

Earlier Yusuf Pathan and Brathwaite picked up the pace in the death overs to add 42 runs pushing the SRH to a competitive 178/6 after being put in to bat first. With runs hard to come by initially, the pressure of making the full use of fielding restrictions resulted in Dhawan and Williamson going after the bowlers. Soon the duo raised fifty-run stand but the introduction of Ravindra Jadeja broke their association as a quicker bowled out Dhawan at 26.

At one stage, a score in the 190s looked a real possibility but Lungi Ngidi put that to rest, giving away only eight runs in the 19th over, despite a six off the last ball.
