India reported 14,348 Covid-19 new cases in the last 24 hours, informed the Ministry of Health and Family welfare on Friday.

With this India's active caseload stands at 161,334. Active cases account for less than 1 per cent of total cases, currently at 0.47 per cent, the lowest since March 2020. The country also registered 13,198 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery rate to 98.19 per cent.

A magistrate court in Surat has directed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to appear before it today to record his statement in connection with a criminal defamation case against him over his remark on the "Modi surname".

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address a valedictory session organised by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini on the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two decades in public office.

The address will begin at 12:45 pm today.

An orange alert has been issued for the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu on Friday and Saturday, following the possibility of heavy rains and even very heavy rainfall.

Samsung rolls out 'Made in India' privacy app for Galaxy A71, Galaxy A51

  Smartphone maker  Samsung  on Monday said it has rolled out privacy app AltZLife developed at its India R&D centre on select handsets in the country. The app allows users of the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51  smartphones  to quickly switch to privacy mode from normal mode by double-clicking the power button and also automatically save images and videos in private folders based on the usage pattern. "The AltZLife feature will be available to the existing as well as new users of Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 through a software update on August 10, 2020,"  Samsung  said in a statement. Truecaller version 12 with new features for Android users launched

  Swedish caller identification app  Truecaller  on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI). A total of five features have been announced as part of the  Truecaller  Version 12 update. " Truecaller  is a vital part of communication for over 22 crore Indians, for both their professional and personal needs.
