Eco Survey: From climate change to legal cost, here's a snapshot of facts
Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian on Monday continued the practice of presenting interesting data in the Economic Survey. Among various data sets, he highlighted pendency of cases in various fora and its impact on gross domestic product (GDP). He presented data on climate change on crop yields. In a chapter on transforming science and technology in India, the CEA tried to capture expenditure on research and development by various countries vis-à-vis India.
