Actor Anushka Sharma on Thursday took to Twitter to condemn the barbaric gang-rape and beheading of a 3-year-old girl in Jamshedpur. The 'PK' actor who is known for championing women's causes, said that exemplary punishment should be meted out to the perpetrators to stop others from committing similar crimes. "A 3 year old girl who was sleeping besides her mother at a railway station was kidnapped, gangraped and beheaded in Jamshedpur. This is so inhuman and vile, it is literally making me shake in anger. Absolutely horrifying," the actor wrote in a series of tweets posted on the micro-blogging site. A woman was allegedly gang-raped by her relatives here, police said. The police on Sunday received a complaint from the victim. "Over the call, she (the victim) said that two relatives and one unknown person had raped her when her husband was not there at home. Relatives included her husband's brother-in-law and his brother," police said. A case under relevant sections has been registered and teams to arrest the accused have been formed, said the police. Further investigation is underway.

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in the Fakharpur area here, police said Friday. The victim had come to attend a wedding in Fakharpur township. She was allegedly abducted by the youth when she was playing with other children Wednesday night, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover said. The youth, identified as Fahim, took her to his house and raped her there, he added. On a complaint of the family members of the girl, an FIR has been lodged and the accused has been taken into custody, the SP said. Police personnel have been deployed in the area to main law and order, he said.

In a shocking incident, a teenaged girl was gang-raped in front of her father by six youths in a village in Bihar's Kishanganj district, police said on Thursday. According to police officials, the 19-year-old victim lodged a police complaint on Wednesday that six youth of her village under Kodhowadi police station knocked at her door late on Tuesday night asking for water to drink, but forcibly entered her home and dragged her outside. Her complaint said they took her to a deserted field near her house and gang-raped her in front of her father, who was taken hostage and tied to a tree . The victim also informed the police that the accused threatened her and father not to approach the police. A woman in Bihar was gang raped on the banks of the Ganga river when she had gone for a bath two days back. Police said on Wednesday that they have arrested the two accused who recorded the crime and even posted it on the social media. The incident occurred on Monday in the Barh area of Patna district, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Anand Kumar said. Shivpujan Mahto and Vishal dragged out the woman from the river on Monday noon and and took turns raping her, as the other one made the video of the rape of the 45-year-old victim. The video went viral. In the video, the victim could be seen pleading with the accused and asking them to consider the "sanctity" of the Ganga river which she addressed as "mother", where she was bathing to celebrate a Hindu festival.
