  Karnataka  Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said the silver jubilee edition of ' Bengaluru  Tech Summit-2022 (BTS-22)'- State government's flagship technological event - would be organised at an international-level. The summit would be held from November 16-18. The  Maharashtra government  is planning to offer Rs 5/litre by way of subsidy transfer directly to milk farmers’ account as economic support, to prevent them from getting trapped in debt. The move follows widespread protests by farmers, whose realisations dropped sharply during sectoral lockdowns. Amid protests from the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana, a political outfit led by Member of Parliament Raju Shetti, the state government a held a virtual meeting with farmer institutions and associations, concerned political parties and other organisations on Tuesday. Two teachers, including the principal of a residential school in Maluru village of Karnataka's Shivamogga city have been suspended after a video apparently depicting them hugging each other surfaced on social media . Karnataka residential educational institutions society Nandan Kumar JV on Tuesday evening suspended the principal and a physical education teacher of Morarji Desai Residential School in Maluru village. The suspension order said, according to a video which went viral on social media, the principal was allegedly hugging the colleague inside the school's storeroom when someone filmed them through a window. "About 250 students are studying and 20 staff members are living here. What message are the principal and teacher giving them? In protest against the Pulwama CRPF convoy attack, the Karnataka State Cricket Association has removed the photographs of Pakistani cricketers, including Imran Khan, from the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The state cricket association, in a statement on Wednesday, said that the move is aimed at showing its solidarity and support to the armed forces. The photographs were brought down on Tuesday. The cricket body said that "to show our solidarity and support to our armed forces and to express our strong protest against the recent terrorist bombing at Pulwama, we have brought down all photographs of Pakistan cricketers including Imran Khan". With women accounting for 40 per cent of its total viewership this season, Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL) has proved that it continues to be popular with both genders. Compared with last year, IPL’s female viewership in the first four weeks of the tournament has grown 18 per cent, and its impressions have grown from 606 million in 2017 to 717.4 million. Impressions refers to the number of people watching the tournament at any given point via live telecast. The average time spent by women watching the tournament has also grown – from 31.07 minutes in 2017 to 33.09 minutes now, an increase of seven per cent. The top markets for female viewership this year remain the same as last year – Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana and Karnataka, in that order. The viewership is, however, more heavily skewed towards the urban markets this season. It is a good performance by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Karnataka Assembly polls and this is being reflected well in the enthusiasm shown by the markets. The upbeat performance at the bourses was warranted, given the surprising outcome. However, this is as far as the markets will go in the short term. They were already factoring in a good performance – though not exactly a majority – ahead of the poll result. The performance has actually been better than expected. The  Karnataka  government has capped the price of film tickets at all theatres at Rs 200 and made it mandatory for multiplexes to screen Kannada and regional cinema during prime time. The ceiling on movie ticket prices comes into immediate effect, with the government issuing a notification implementing the proposal announced in the state budget for 2017-18. The move comes barely a day after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah along with his family watched the blockbuster "Baahubali 2-The Conclusion", by reportedly paying a hefty entry fee at a multiplex that was more than the normal price. The notification also makes it mandatory for multiplexes to screen Kannada and regional cinema during the prime time (between 1.30 pm to 7.30 pm) at least on one screen.However, the maximum cap of Rs 200 does not includet axes.
