In an ambitious bid to take on Google-owned YouTube,  Facebook  is readying itself to launch officially-licensed  music  videos for artists on its platform in the US next month. In an email sent to  Facebook  Page owners linked to artists, the social network informed that they will need to toggle on a new setting to add their  music  videos to their page ahead of an August 1 deadline, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday. Facebook  would automatically create a page of their videos titled '(Artist Name) Official Music' if there is no action from the artists. Artists will not need to manually upload their videos or links. Facebook will control this page, accessible via Facebook Watch and "a new  music  video destination" on the platform. While Google is still working on a coronavirus screening and tracking website, Microsoft Bing team has already launched a web portal for tracking COVID-19 infections worldwide. The website, accessible at bing.com/covid, provides up-to-date infection statistics for each country. The COVID-19 Tracker currently lists 168,835 as total confirmed cases, 84,558 active cases, 77,761 recovered cases and 6,516 deaths. There are at least 3,244 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in the US and at least 61 deaths. "Lots of Bing folks worked (from home) this past week to create a mapping and authoritative news resource for COVID19 info," Michael Schechter, General Manager for Bing Growth and Distribution at Microsoft, was quoted as saying in a ZDNet report on Sunday. In a bid to let users connect with news in multiple languages, Google News will now provide access to news articles from multiple languages and countries from around the world, all within one app, the company has announced. According to the search engine giant, with this update, users will be able to include content in two languages together within the news app and benefit from the headlines and stories in each language to learn more about a culture or to catch up on what's going on elsewhere. "Today, over 60 per cent of people around the world speak and consume news across two or more languages. Finding articles in these languages can be challenging, since it requires you to search for topics across various apps and websites," the company wrote in a blog post on Tuesday. US based search giant Google on Thursday announced a major update for Assistant users in India where one can now make Assistant talk in Hindi by just asking "Ok Google, Hindi bolo or "Talk to me in Hindi. Besides Hindi and English, users will also be able to find content in Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati and Malayalam. The new update comes to the Google Assistant a day after Amazon announced that Alexa will support Hindi and Hinglish conversations. "For many Indians, voice is increasingly becoming their preferred way to search, and today Hindi has become the second-most used Assistant language globally -- after English," Manuel Bronstein, Vice President, Product Management, Google said in a statement. Google is rolling out a major Chrome OS update for the month of August that includes new features like improved media playback, an updated camera app for the Pixelbook, and more. For media controls, one can now open system menu and see all the tabs or apps on Chromebook that are playing audio tracks and control them from one place, wrote Google in a blog-post on Thursday. Google has also included an updated camera app for the Pixelbook and select Chromebook machines. Additionally, Google has updated the Camera app UI for navigating between new modes, like square mode and portrait mode. A "Clear all" button has also arrived for notifications. With this, one can now check and clear notifications from Play Store apps on Chromebook and dismiss notifications with the "Clear all" button.
