My wish fulfilled: Alia on Rajamouli's 'RRR'

Actress Alia Bhatt , who turned 26 on Friday and will make her Telugu debut with S.S. Rajamouli's "RRR", says now her wish has been fulfilled as she always wanted to work with the "Baahubali" series filmmaker. Alia was interacting with the media at the Economic Times Edge - Femina 'Maharashtra Achievers Awards 2019' here on Thursday, on the day Rajamouli announced that she and Ajay Devgn would be a part of the period action film which stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in the lead. On being a part of "RRR", Alia said: "Now, I am doing the preparation for it. I can't reveal details of the film because I don't know whether I am supposed to talk about the film, but... I am feeling really grateful as I wished in my heart that I wanted to work Rajamouli sir and that wish has been fulfilled now, so I feel immense gratitude. "It's my first time to work in the South Indian film industry, so I am really excited." ...

Alia Bhatt joins SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has joined the cast of filmmaker SS Rajamouli's upcoming venture "RRR". The 25-year-old actor said she is excited about working with the critically-acclaimed director and south superstars Ram Charan and Jr NTR. "Working with Rajamouli sir is a big tick off my bucket list. Also to be alongside Ram Charan and Jr NTR is an absolute honour. I am very excited about this experience and also working in the south for the first time," Alia said in a statement. The film is set in the 1920s and the actor will soon start filming it. "I begin the shoot in less than a month. I will be playing role of Sita and the film is set in 1920s backdrop," the statement further read. Ajay Devgn, who had earlier given the voice-overs for the Hindi version of Rajamouli's 2012 Telugu blockbuster "Eega" titled "Makkhi", is also set to play a pivotal role in " RRR ".

'Baahubali' to get another life on Netflix as a prequel

Fans of "Baahubali" can revisit the world of Mahishmati in a new Netflix series that will explore the journey of Sivagami in a prequel to the SS Rajamouli's two-part blockbuster. The series, which was announced by Netflix today, has already been given a two-season order. " Baahubali: Before the Beginning ", will be a prequel to "Baahubali: the Beginning" and "Baahubali: the Conclusion", and is based on Anand Neelakantan's book, "The Rise of Sivagami". Season one of the series will have nine episodes and captures Sivagami's journey from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise and unequalled queen. Netflix has teamed up with the team behind "Baahubali", including Arka Media Works and Rajamouli. Deva Katta and Praveen Sataru will co-direct the series. Rajamouli is looking forward to the prequel. Telugu actor Ram Charan wants to work with Rajkumar Hirani

Telugu actor-producer Ram Charan says he is ready to explore Bollywood and wishes to work with Rajkumar Hirani. While "Baahubali" fame actor Prabhas and Malayalam movie star Dulquer Salmaan are working in Bollywood films like "Saaho" and "Karwaan" respectively, asked if he has any favourite director in Bollywood, Ram said: "I am a huge fan of Rajkumar Hirani sir and would love to work with him. "He is one of those filmmakers who is balancing the art and commerce rightly in his films. I so wish to work with him. I have also watched a few films of Vishal Bhardwaj and he makes some amazing pieces of cinema. Working with him would be such a pleasure."
